What you pay extra for is the swirl

It costs close to twice the Deluxe, and the difference comes down to one thing: serves the ice cream in a swirl, soft-serve style, through a nozzle. It adds six creamy ice cream programmes to the seven classic ones and a mode CreamiFit designed for protein shakes.

In exchange, the tubs are smaller than the Deluxe's — 480 ml against 710 — and the appliance is noticeably bigger: 48 cm tall and 9.45 kg.

How the ice cream turns out
Very creamy, and the soft-serve convinces: the feeling of a gelato shop at home is the idea that comes up most. One Italian buyer managed it without thickeners first time.
Ease of use
Simple to operate. The manual and the recipe book only come in English, French and German: that is the specific complaint from several buyers, not a stray impression.

Would we buy it? Only for the swirl

The ice cream that comes out of here is the same as from the Deluxe: the frozen block and the blade are the same. What you pay extra for is the served in a swirl and six creamy programmes. If that excites you — and in the reviews you can tell it excites households with children — it is worth it.

If what you want is ice cream in a tub, the Deluxe does the same for almost half and with bigger tubs.
