Pro Breeze EasyFreezy
Seven programmes, five texture levels and granita as well as ice cream. It is the most “counter machine” of all the ones we have had: tall and narrow, with the bowl on top and a vertical mixing action that works in air.
The one that also makes granitas and milkshakes
Pro Breeze does not sell it as just an ice cream maker, but as a frozen dessert machine: creamy ice cream, granita, milkshake, frappé and frozen. The seven programmes are not decoration, because a granita and an ice cream ask for neither the same cold nor the same churning.
Our score, after reading the reviews one by one.
Vertical churning works in more air than a classic paddle, so it comes out lighter. For a dense gelato you have to lower the air from the recipe.
Touchscreen and pick a programme. It also has a self-cleaning mode, which is welcome on a tall machine.
800 ml: two generous servings per batch.
That it makes real granita, not just ice cream, and that it takes up very little width.
Four things you notice
in use, not on the box
How the ice cream comes out
Creamy and airy. That is its character: anyone after a dense gelato-shop ice cream will have to compensate by lowering the air in the recipe.
How long it really takes
Pro Breeze quotes 20 minutes per batch, one of the shortest times in the whole comparison.
Day to day
No pre-chilling, with an opening for adding ingredients while it churns and a self-cleaning cycle at the end.
Footprint
34.2 × 15.3 × 38.5 centimetres and 7.5 kilos: fifteen centimetres wide, but almost forty tall.
Why it is tall and narrow
Almost every domestic ice cream maker has the bowl lying down and a paddle that turns horizontally. This one stands it up and churns from top to bottom, folding the mix over itself. It gains air and loses worktop width; in exchange, the height means you have to think about where it is stored.

Pro Breeze EasyFreezy specifications
The Pro Breeze EasyFreezy against its rivals
Sensio Home Icy Treats
400 ml more bowl and a window to watch the churning, in the same shop.
Severin EZ 7407
It ferments yoghurt, it does not just churn it, and it has more bowl.
Cuisinart ICE-100E
Two different paddles, one for ice cream and one for gelato.
Springlane ELLI
Without granita, but with more litres and available here.
Would we buy it? Yes, if granita interests you
It is the only one in the comparison that does ice cream and slush properly, and the 20 minutes per batch really are fast. It is fifteen centimetres wide, half what almost all of them take. Two warnings: it is not in every Amazon catalogue — the button above tells you whether it is in yours — and its 22 reviews are still too few to talk about durability.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Pro Breeze EasyFreezy need anything pre-chilled?
No. It has a built-in compressor and starts cooling on its own.
Does it really make slush?
Yes. It has its own granita programme, plus milkshake, frappé and frozen. It is not a more weakly churned ice cream: it is another programme.
What is vertical mixing?
The paddle churns from top to bottom instead of turning horizontally. It works in more air and makes the machine narrower.
Is it sold in every Amazon?
Not in all of them: in some catalogues it has a page but neither price nor buy button. The button above goes to yours and tells you straight away.
How many does 800 ml serve?
Two generous servings. And since there is no pre-chilling, you can run another batch straight after.
What would we buy instead of the Pro Breeze EasyFreezy?
The Sensio Home Icy Treats if you want more bowl in the same shop, or the Springlane ELLI if you want to buy it in Spain.
