CASO IceCreamer
A two-litre bowl, a 180-watt compressor and a stainless steel body. It makes ice cream in a good half hour and yoghurt in five to eight hours, and when it finishes it keeps it cold for another hour.
Dos litros de acero, con yogur incluido
It is one of the few two-litre machines that also ferments yoghurt, and it does so with a stainless steel body rather than plastic. The 180-watt compressor is not the strongest on the market, but with that bowl and no pre-freezing it is more than enough.
Our score, after reading the reviews one by one.
Creamy and with body. With two litres per batch it is best not to fill it right up if you want it to come down fast.
LED display and four programmes, no fuss.
2 litres: six to eight servings per batch.
Stainless steel and the yoghurt programme in the same machine.
Four things you notice
in use, not on the box
How the ice cream comes out
Creamy. The 180 watts move two litres well, though with the bowl full the batch stretches to an hour.
How long it really takes
CASO quotes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the recipe and the amount. Yoghurt takes between five and eight hours.
Day to day
No pre-chilling needed. The bowl comes out whole to take to the freezer or the sink.
Footprint
43 centimetres wide and almost twelve kilos: it is one of the big ones and needs a permanent spot on the worktop.
Dos litros que además fermentan
Most two-litre machines stop at ice cream. This one adds the yoghurt programme, which is not a catalogue extra: it is hours at controlled temperature, and the machine holds them on its own.

What it wins and what you have to accept
- Its own compressor: no need to pre-freeze the bowl the night before
- The cheapest in the compressor range
- LCD screen with timer
- Removable steel bowl
- The one that takes least worktop space
- 135 W and 1.2 litres: the lowest rung of its brand
- It falls short as soon as you want more quantity or more flavours
- It does not make yoghurt
- The recipe booklet doesn't give balanced formulas; the recipe is up to you

La CASO IceCreamer frente a sus rivales
Severin EZ 7405
Same watts, same bowl and yoghurt too, in less space.
Springlane ELISA 2.0
Forty watts more with the same bowl and the same yoghurt.
H. Koenig HF320
The same watts and litres without paying for the yoghurt programme.
Klarstein Vanilla Sky
Same compressor and same bowl, without fermenting yoghurt.
Would we buy it? Yes, if you want steel and yoghurt in the same
There are several two-litre machines with a compressor and a yoghurt programme; with a stainless steel body, far fewer. If that matters to you and you have the 43 centimetres of worktop, it is a sensible buy. If space is tight, the Severin does the same in much less room.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have to pre-freeze anything?
No. It has a compressor and starts cooling as soon as you switch it on.
How long does a batch take?
Between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the recipe and how full the bowl is.
¿Cómo hace el yogur?
With its own programme, in five to eight hours at controlled temperature.
¿Es de acero o de plástico?
The body is stainless steel, one of the few things that set this range apart inside and out.
¿Se puede sacar la cubeta?
Yes, it comes out whole to take to the freezer or the sink.
Which would we buy instead?
The Severin EZ 7405 if space is the deciding factor, or the ELISA 2.0 if you want more compressor with the same bowl.
