It is neither the most powerful nor the biggest, but it is the only one that tells you in advance how loud it will be and how fast it mixes. If noise in the kitchen bothers you, or you like comparing with figures rather than adjectives, here you have something to work with. How much ice cream does it really make?
The bowl is 1.5 litres, but the manufacturer itself says the result is 800 grams of ice cream. That is the number to count on.
Is it noisy?
It is one of the few that publishes the figure: under 55 decibels. For comparison, an independent test measured the ELISA at around 65, which sounds like a conversation.
What do the 55 revolutions per minute mean?
The speed at which the paddle turns. The steadier the churning, the finer the ice crystal stays; publishing it lets you compare with others.
Does it make yoghurt?
No. Ice cream and sorbet only.
Does the bowl need pre-freezing?
No. It has its own compressor and works between −18 and −35 °C without help from the freezer.
Are 150 W enough?
For a litre and a half it is tight, especially if you fill the bowl. With a well-set-up recipe it does the job, but if you are going to do big batches often, better a 180 W one.
